Well, this is my favorite adoption book EVER. I hate to be a sap, but it gave me a squeezy feeling in my chest. Its the story of an abandoned baby girl who gets taken to an orphanage and then adopted. A little lady bug named Dot goes along for the ride and comforts little Shaoey while she waits for a mother.
The book is written by the Christian music artist, Steven Curtis Chapman and his wife, and is based on the adoption of one of their 3 Chinese daughters.
Here are a couple of excerpts that say it all.....................
" It was all making sense now! Each bed in the room
Held a lost little bundle of love,
And the sound the were making is the song babies sing
when they're needing their mothers to come."
" See, Ive waited till now to tell you this story.
Its about all the reasons you cry.
Sometimes its because you feel sick, tired, or hungry,
And sometimes you just want your pants dry.
But, then, there's a cry that's the saddest of all.
In fact, it's unlike any other.
It comes from a deep, empty place in you heart
That can only be filled by a mother.
And after today, I will never again
Hear that sad song coming from you.
You're getting adopted, your getting a mother,
And your getting a family too."
see what I mean??? did you get the squeezy feeling?
see..........I knew you would...........
sigh
