Amelia's favorite toys so far, are the stacking cups and the little duck she's holding. it has lots of textures and noises and a link to hook it to a stroller or high chair. The white Swan has extra comforters in the armoir and these are great to put between the beds for a play area.
Yesterday we had to go back to the civil affairs office to complete interviews with the officials and final paperwork. One of the questions they ask is "do you promise to care for her and never abandon her?" the interviews are no brainers. dont be nervous about this step. Afterwords we went to the passport office and received her passport. It was a rough morning because we had paperwork to do last night after getting back to the hotel, and then were on a bus at 9 a.m. for the final formalities with the Chinese authorities. oh yeah, and I picked up a little stomach bug or food poisoning or something, but now I'm back to normal---bring you some cipro just in case!but as you can see, Amelia was a little trooper. It was mommy that was temporarily miserable.
The White Swan does indeed have a fabulous breakfast buffet. All the western choices you can imagine and some Chinese foods as well. If you eat the buffet for breakfast, you really wont want much or any lunch. Its pretty funny to go into the dining room and see umpteen families carrying in little Chinese babies. High chairs everywhere. The view from the restaurant is of the Pearl River. we watched fishermen out there the last couple of mornings dredging for oysters.

This was our first attempt to feed her rice cereal. Her update said she eats cereal and mashed liver and egg, but I dont think she has a clue what to do with food. She clamps her mouth shut and if you sneak it in she looks at me like I have just grown 3 heads and then promptly spits it out. we'll keep trying. she takes her bottles very well, even as soon as 2 hours after gotcha.

New daddy jitters---hehe

love the cheeks, keep the pictures coming! Personally, I would just do the antibiotics. It might be spit right back out at you though!
so sweet sleeping on her daddy. She looks so content and happy. Cindy, quit closing your eyes in the pictures girly!!
Oh guys, she is so cute!! My Mom says she looks like such a "friendly baby". High praise indeed from Nana Susan who puts much stock in being friendly :)
Amelia is just adorable! That's so great that she likes to cuddle...you look wonderful as a family of 3!

I love that she has the stacking cups I sent you. It sounds silly but it made me so happy to see them in the picture.
What a happy baby! I'm loving the pictures.
