You know the great thing about babies? they know about the small pleasures. Look at that face....... Delighted at taking a bath in the sink.
Where does that go?
Its the ability to delight in the every day..... thats what the babies understand.
Its watching her joy, amazement, accomplishment, and discovery, that fills me with more delight than i've known since I was a child myself. Its becoming a mom, that has reminded me how to appreciate the smallest moments; holding my breath when she crawls for the first time; feeling my heart melt when she grabs my hair on both sides of my head and buries her face in mine; racing my husband to her room after naps, because we both want to be first to see her wake up smile :)
Its true that becoming a parent is challenging, and exhausting, and sometimes overwhelming.
But its also the most incredible, heart stopping, butterfly skipping adventure.....and
the wonder of it sometimes catches me off guard.
Becoming a mother has been everything I anticipated AND SO MUCH MORE. I will never have another experience that could compare with adopting Amelia.

Exactly.
You put into words so well what I feel every day of my life, with my kids, husband, family, everything! Life is a wonder, and too many let it fly by without appreciating all the small beautiful things! Thanks for this site! It's one of the few I keep up with on a regular basis to get me through our long wait!
