Today I received an order from a company called Little Treasure. www.littletreasure.com They sell adoption related books at about half the cost, and I found them through my DTC group. Their selection is very limited though, and changes all the time, so its kind of hit and miss as to what they have in stock any given week.
I ordered 2 Chinese cook books with beautiful pictures of the people and places of China, and several children's books, one of which is pictured above. I love you like crazy cakes is a simply told story of a single mom traveling to China to adopt her baby. The story is nothing to ooh and ahh over but its simple enough for even a very small child, and the art work is gorgeous.
I ordered a couple of other kiddie books are wonderful though, and I'll tell you about those in future posts.
Other news? Well, CCAI has updated their web site and confirm that CCAA is working on another set of matches. No word yet as to when they go in the mail or how far they go into May---if at all. Lets pray, chant, cross fingers, send vibes........Whatever we can do to encourage flow of referrals!
We got 2 DVDs in the mail from CCAI---one on travel and the other on attachment. Everyone says they are pretty boring, be we got the newly updated versions so, we'll see! I dont care. anything thats symbolic of the process MOVING ON makes me happy at this point. This is one more milestone, and I'm gearing up the popcorn popper.
One of my DTC groups--September---is having a major brew ha ha over some security issues. Apparently the list owner was allowing people to join pretty frequently without requiring them to pass muster (the moderator questions). Now a member has started an alternate group, and the members are in an uproar as to whether to move to the new group or hold a roll call to try and weed out anyone who doesn't belong. I vote for the roll call.---lets face it.....I want it to be a closed group for privacy and security, but there is no such thing as complete safety on the net, Look at all the sites out there with the ability to find you .........It doesn't take an adoption group to do that. So I say, lets just fix the problem to the extent we can, be careful about posting addresses or last names, and move on. Leaving the group? Say it aint so!
Jimmy painted the master bath a GAAWWWWGEOS shade of green yesterday.
